HexFlex Clear

Not every build needs colour. Some need flexibility and nothing else.

HexFlex Clear is a water-based flexible coating that goes on transparent and stays that way. Use it as a flexible base for tinting your own colours, or as a primer coat that seals the surface without adding any colour of its own.

It cures with no tack, no yellowing, and no rigidity. The surface stays exactly as you built it.

What It's Used For

As a tintable base. HexFlex Clear mixes with any water-based acrylic. If you need a colour that isn't in the standard range, mix to the shade you need. It carries pigment well and the flexibility of the base transfers to the finished colour.

As a primer. On foam and polystyrene, HexFlex Clear seals the surface and gives subsequent coats something consistent to bond to, without adding any colour of its own. Useful when you're working on light colours or want to keep the substrate visible through a translucent finish.

Application

Apply in thin coats. Can be thinned with water for airgun application. Brush application works well for smaller builds and detail work.

Dry time between coats is around three hours at room temperature, brought down to twenty or thirty minutes with a heat gun or hairdryer. Allow twelve hours for full cure on the final coat.

*Please note: drying times can be considerably improved (20-30mins) with a gentle hot air source (heat gun or hair drier etc). Drying times are estimates and may be quicker or slower depending on local conditions.
